Losing weight can be a challenging task, but fortunately, experts have suggested a simple way to jumpstart the process.
By cutting back on a certain type of food that many people are addicted to, we can shed unwanted belly fat and feel better in just a few days, the New York Post reported.
The only catch is that our busy schedules often make it difficult for us to spend time in the kitchen and cook up something from our cookbook, which is one of the healthier alternatives to the food we need to cut back on.
However, if we make an effort to swap in healthier options, we'd be amazed at what we can accomplish, especially in the tricky belly area where fat tends to accumulate.
Dietician Lucy Jones suggests that reducing "refined carbs" can help combat the "bulge" effect, which can harm internal organs, and increase the risk of heart disease, diabetes, and other health issues, making it a worthwhile battle to fight.
"Targeting particular body areas is hard, but there is some evidence from studies like the Framlingham Heart Study, that eating less sugar and refined carbs — and instead replacing these with wholegrain foods — can help to reduce more abdominal fat,” Jones said.
This means that you are allowed to have a plate of spaghetti and meatballs or munch on an Italian sub but with a slight change.
Jones suggests swapping your regular spaghetti and white roll with the wholegrain versions — whole wheat pasta and dark sourdough bread, for example.
These options are healthy alternatives that can also aid the weight loss process, especially in the front
